High-precision 3D map "Image-based MMS: Mobile Mapping System"

製品・サービス説明

Toyo’s image-based MMS tracks fixed objects in captured video along the time axis to accurately calculate the position and orientation of a moving camera. Using this panoramic image with the camera’s position annotated makes it possible to obtain spatial information for every pixel in the image.

Conventional methods for acquiring and analyzing 3D spatial information using point clouds captured by laser scanners have challenges, such as increased data volume (file size, memory size) and significant changes in visibility depending on the point density, making them difficult to handle. By treating space as images, this product solves these issues and produces results that are visually easy to understand.

Examples of use include automatically recognizing and storing objects such as utility poles, traffic lights, and manholes in a database. Clicking on a tag on a 2D map displays the corresponding object on a 3D map. Furthermore, it is possible to measure the height of signs, road width, and the area of parking lots, billboards, and walls.
Additionally, by overlaying a 3D model on video, simple before/after simulations of installation work are possible.

High-precision orthophotos can also be generated from MMS capture data. Orthoimages are photographs that have been corrected for distortion so that they can be used as accurate maps, as if viewed from directly above. Orthoimages are also assigned location information, so the exact location of features can be confirmed and road widths, the distance between any two points, and area can be measured. By linking 3D video and orthoimages with GIS such as ledgers, it is possible to grasp precise road conditions.

In addition, point cloud data is also acquired by LiDAR, so you can choose to use the point cloud in addition to the 3D imagery.
