NoMaDbot™: A mapless autonomous driving module requiring no pre-training, enabling field-ready robots.

製品・サービス説明

Construction sites and infrastructure inspection sites are unstructured environments where conditions change on a daily basis.

In such environments, conventional map-based autonomous driving technologies such as SLAM face challenges including the burden of frequent map updates and system stops caused by unexpected situations.

ROHM’s NoMaDbot™ is a new autonomous driving technology that does not rely on maps, inspired by the flexible mobility of living organisms.

Three key features of NoMaDbot™ that overcome challenges in the field

1. No mapping or pre-training required
Simply set the destination and the robot navigates by making real-time decisions based on its surroundings. It can be deployed immediately even at sites where material layouts frequently change.

2. Robust operation in challenging environments
NoMaDbot™ continues to operate even in environments where conventional technologies struggle, such as featureless tunnels or areas with unstable radio signals.

3. Faster deployment and lower implementation cost
Because it requires no infrastructure preparation or specialized expertise, deployment time can be significantly reduced compared with conventional SLAM-based systems.

Our goal is not excessive performance, but practical autonomy that can be continuously used in the field.

We are currently seeking partners for field trials and real-world deployment.

We welcome system integrators proposing automation solutions for material transport, safety inspections, and infrastructure inspections such as waterways and tunnels, as well as construction and infrastructure companies exploring the use of robotics.
